Don’t Drown Your Lawn

On average, a lawn requires 1" of rainfall/week (or the equivalent through watering) to remain healthy. Too much water over extended periods of time can be just as damaging as not enough. Let your lawn dry between waterings. To test if it has dried sufficiently, push a screwdriver into the soil. If it shows the top 4" to 6" of soil is dry, the grass is ready for more water.
